Monday, 20 November 2017 12:09:07 PM Australia/Perth

Do you need boxing shoes for your boxing training or just for a bout?

You have just started boxing for fitness at the local boxing gym and you are loving it, love the training, love the environment and they are a great bunch of guys and girls that you train with. You have been using the gloves out of the box, the one that most gyms have in the corner where that has some of the original gloves the gym started with and the gloves that people have left there by mistake or have been retired after they reached their use by date. They are usually smelly, dirty and should not be used without wraps or inners, to protect your hands from the nasties that may lurk inside the gloves.

The internal foam which most people will not see, is one of the most important parts of the boxing glove, you can have the best external glove material which may last 2 or 3 years but if the foams that have been used inside the glove are not good quality you may see the padding deteriorate within in 6 months, rendering the glove useless.

Heart is everything

Monday, 16 January 2017 11:14:19 AM Australia/Perth

One of the biggest compliments a boxer can be paid is when someone says that he "has heart." Inside the boxing ring, that means you can take a punch or willing to take a punch, you show an undeniable will to win, you relentlessly fight to the finish or are just plain unstoppable. As much as any fighter would take pride by having his name associated with that particular phrase, "he's got heart", how many actually work on it? Wait...what...you can work on it? Yep. If you think that having “heart "is something you're either born with or not, then think again.Read More
